Structured data check

Check a page's JSON-LD: syntax, types, required fields, and whether it matches the visible content.

What we check

This version parses JSON-LD (the form Google recommends). We would rather skip a check than report something inaccurate.

  • Presence — whether the page has any JSON-LD at all
  • Syntax — trailing commas, smart quotes, BOM and other common errors, each with a hint
  • @context — whether schema.org is declared correctly
  • Types — every @type found, flagging ones that produce no rich results
  • Required fields — checked against Google's structured data requirements
  • Content consistency — whether the Q&A in the markup exists on the page

FAQ

Why does it say “unable to verify consistency”?

Because that page renders its content with JavaScript. We only see the server-returned HTML, so we say we cannot tell — rather than falsely reporting a mismatch.

I do have schema — why does it say none was found?

If it is injected by JavaScript, it will not be in the server-returned HTML. Re-check with browser dev tools or Google's own tool.

Why not check Microdata and RDFa?

JSON-LD is the form Google recommends. Microdata and RDFa are only noted as present, not scored — we would rather not do a check than give an uncertain answer.

Why only one page at a time?

This version checks a single page. Whole-site scanning is part of our paid audit service.
